Is The United States at Risk of Becoming a Dictatorship

During his 2016 Presidential campaign, Trump told the American people that America was broken. He attacked our Judiciary, our electoral system, and the American Media. He told the country that America had lost its way and that he alone could save it. Trump then began to hint that Democracy was not suited for this country, that America needed a great leader, and that he was that leader. In the process, he heaped praise on leaders of repressive regimes like Russia’s Putin and Kim Jong-un of North Korea. When in December of 2015, Putin described Trump as bright and talented, Trump gushed. On several occasions, Trump expressed his desire to be America’s dictator. Few connected the dots. On February 28, 2017, Trump went on National T.V and declared his intention that America would become a one-party state with him as its leader. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/.. The Statement, though frightening, was largely ignored by media outlets. Trump has recently placed people in critical government positions who are now openly calling for the establishment of a dictatorship. This article will attempt to describe the tools, including the propaganda Trump uses to subvert our democratic Republic.
